Scientific Department
Understanding anomalies, ensuring containment — protecting the public from unspeakable horrors.

» Scientific Department Hub «

The Scientific Department (ScD) is a broad department with a wide array of divisions, each specializing in its own field of expertise. It ranges from standardized testing using protocols from across the Foundation, to working with occultic rituals that violate the very nature of time and space. All divisions within the department share the same goal of understanding anomalies and ensuring we have methods to secure and contain them — protecting the public from unspeakable horrors.

Scientific Director: Dr. K. Fisher
Asst. Scientific Director: Vacant

Working in ScD — For Interns & Researchers

The Scientific Department offers diverse opportunities for those interested in understanding the anomalous. Whether you're drawn to experimental research or theoretical studies, ScD provides comprehensive training and mentorship from experienced researchers.

What You'll Do

  • Assist with controlled anomaly testing and experimentation
  • Collect and analyze data from research trials
  • Document observations and compile detailed test reports
  • Maintain laboratory logs and research databases
  • Participate in safety briefings and containment protocol reviews
  • Contribute to theoretical research and hypothesis development

Skills & Experience

Scientific curiosity, meticulous documentation, attention to detail, and strict adherence to safety protocols are essential. Interns and new researchers will receive training in:

  • Foundation research methodologies and documentation standards
  • Laboratory safety and containment procedures
  • Experiment design and data analysis
  • Anomaly classification and containment theory
  • Scientific reporting and peer review processes

Getting Started

The Scientific Department welcomes personnel with backgrounds in research, theoretical sciences, and related fields. Visit the Scientific Zone in the FPZ elevator section to meet with researchers.

Head Researcher: Kyoko Nakamura

"We research the unknown in order to understand it, we proceed to then find ways to contain it and avoid it to affect individuals with the usage of special containment procedures. Followed after we give them a classification and add the danger threat they possess. Our job is to understand the unknown and dangerous things that may be out there and make sure they don't hurt anyone else. We are a fundamental part of the foundation and as such our job must be of good quality. After all, we study the danger to warn people of it and we may die but in the end we have always died in the dark so society can continue to live in the light."
- Kyoko Nakamura, Head Researcher

The Research & Development division focuses on experimental research, protocol development, and practical applications of anomalous phenomena. R&D researchers work in state-of-the-art laboratories conducting controlled tests and developing new containment methodologies.

Theoretical Science Research Division (TSRD) WIP

Director: Daniels Tailkurm

"Innovation. When departments lack the tools they need to do the jobs that mean life or death we are already there in the labs designing them. When personal become effected by unknown anomalous triggers we are there researching ways to rip thosr curses off our people. When we need to go further beyond we make the lights required to carve inch by inch deeper into that dark. We are the cutting edge, the blade of the foundations greatest minds. We make the impossible possible, we make the unknowable holdable. We take the fire of Olympus. TSRD makes the wildest of imaginations a viable tool for our men abd women on staff."
- Daniels Tailkurm, Director of TSRD

The Theoretical Science Research Division explores the boundaries of possibility itself. TSRD researchers work with advanced mathematical models, quantum anomalies, temporal mechanics, and phenomena that challenge our understanding of reality. This cutting-edge division pushes the limits of what we know about the anomalous universe.
