CODE PURPLE

"Code Purple has been declared. All personnel are advised to remain vigilant and report any unusual activity."

This code indicates a Suspicious Person has been reported in or around the facility. All personnel should excercise elevated vigilance and report any unusual activity.

📋 Example Scenario

Situation: You're working in your lab when the intercom crackles to life and Code Purple is announced.

What do you do?

  • Immediately secure any sensitive materials or experiments
  • Excercise elevated levels of alertness and report any unusual activity
  • Proceed with your work as usual
  • Do NOT attempt to confront the suspicious person
  • Follow any directions given by security officers

CODE BLUE

"Code Blue has been declared. A suspicious, potentially armed person has been confirmed in the facility. Personnel must follow Code Blue procedures and await security to confirm the threat is neutralized."

This code indicates a Suspicious, potentially armed person has been confirmed in the facility. Personnel must shelter in place and await security to confirm the threat is neutralized.

📋 Example Scenario

Situation: You're waiting for the printer to finish a large print job in the middle of Code Purple when the intercom clicks on and Code Blue is announced.

What do you do?

  • Stop what you are doing immidiately, and take cover
  • If possible, lock the door to your current location
  • Do not respond to anyone calling for help, even if they appear to be a coworker
  • Attempt to conceal yourself and remain out of sight
  • Do NOT try to confront the suspicious person
  • Do NOT leave your current location unless it is absolutely necessary
  • If you are discovered by the suspicious person, comply with their demands and remain calm

CODE TEAL

"Code Teal has been declared. Site-89 is under terrorist threat. Please follow Code Teal Procedures and wait for further instructions."

This code indicates the facility is under terrorist threat. Personnel must react quickly and make their way to the nearest breach shelter.

📋 Example Scenario

Situation: You're eating at Tom's diner when you hear multiple gunshots ring out, alarms begin blaring, and Code Teal is announced.

What do you do?

  • Stop what you are doing, and assess the situation, ask yourself; "Where is the nearest breach shelter?", "Where are the bad actors?", "What is the safest route to the shelter?"
  • Using your better judgement, determine if it is safe to proceed to the breach shelter, or find an alternative safe location
  • If you can make it to a breach shelter, proceed there immediately and follow all instructions from security personnel
  • If you cannot make it to a breach shelter, and are trapped, or do not feel it is safe to proceed, find a secure location and barricade yourself
  • Remain calm, attempt to conceal yourself to the best of your ability, and remain quiet
  • Do NOT attempt to confront the threat, it is likely that they are heavily armed, and doing so could result in serious injury or death
  • Do NOT attempt to recover your personal belongings at this time, focus on your safety
  • Do NOT follow any directions from any individual, remain sheltered until Code Green is declared via intercom

CODE AMBER

"Code Amber has been declared. Site-89 has experienced an emergency situation. Please evacuate immediately and follow direction by security personnel."

This code indicates a fire or other emergency which compromises the safety of the facility. All personnel should evacuate immediately and follow established emergency procedures.

📋 Example Scenario

Situation: You're conducting routine maintenance in the Heavy Containment Zone when you notice smoke along the roof and flames at the end of a hallway. After you report it, Code Amber is announced.

What do you do?

  • Stop what you are doing and assess the situation, ask yourself; "Where is the nearest exit?", "Where is the fire?", "What is the safest route to evacuate?"
  • After assessing the situation, proceed to the nearest safe exit or follow the established evacuation route
  • If you are near the fire, and you are capable of procuring a fire extinguisher, attempt to extinguish the fire if it is safe to do so
  • Take only your immediate belongings, do not attempt to recover other items, focus on your safety
  • After evacuating, do not re-enter the building until it has been declared safe by emergency personnel

CODE RED

"Code Red has been declared. Site-89 is experiencing a containment breach. Please remain calm and make your way to the nearest breach shelter or exit and follow instruction by security personnel."

This code indicates a containment breach. All personnel must follow established containment breach protocols.

📋 Example Scenario

Situation: You're working in the Medium Containment Zone when you hear an explosion. Immediately after, Code Red blares through the facility and panic ensues.

What do you do?

  • DO NOT PANIC - panic causes casualties
  • Make your way to the nearest breach shelter, or safe exit, and follow established evacuation routes
  • Follow directions issued by security personnel
  • If you evacuate, do not re-enter the building until it has been declared safe by the Mobile Task Force
  • If you are in a breach shelter, do not leave until instructed by security personnel
  • Assume all containment chambers are compromised
  • Close doors behind you to contain the breach
  • Do NOT attempt to recover personal belongings, they will be covered by your insurance
  • Do NOT trust anyone who isn't carrying proper identification

CODE BLACK

"Code Black has been declared. Site-89 is currently experiencing multiple containment breaches. Make your way to the nearest breach shelter or exit and await further instructions."

This code indicates multiple containment breaches. All personnel must follow the highest level of emergency protocols.

📋 Example Scenario

Situation: You jolt awake from your sleep, it's 4:12 AM, and you hear the ominous drone of the Code Black alarm, you wished this day would never come.

What do you do?

  • THIS IS THE WORST CASE SCENARIO
  • If you're near an exit - LEAVE IMMEDIATELY and get to minimum safe distance
  • If you're trapped inside - find the nearest reinforced safe room
  • DO NOT trust anyone who isn't wearing proper ID
  • Assume all containment chambers are compromised
  • If you have access to weapons, arm yourself for survival
  • Await extraction by Mobile Task Force
  • Prepare for facility-wide lockdown or heavily armed Mobile Task Force members to threaten you in order to gain compliance
  • DO NOT under any circumstances attempt to get deeper into the facility, assume that behind every door, something wants to kill you
  • You may be handcuffed, or ziptied by Mobile Task Force operators, do not resist them, they are attempting to gain control of the situation, and your non-compliance may result in suspension at best, and death at worst due to Code Black Protcols
